Tarangire

Welcome to Tarangire

Situated in the northern region of Tanzania, Tarangire National Park is best known for its expansive elephant population which sometimes goes into the hundreds. The landscapes here include expansive swathes of savanna, wetlands and of course the well known baobab trees. Some of the wildlife found here include lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, lions and over five hundred unique bird species which makes Tarangire National Park a dream come true for birdwatchers. During the dry season, most of the animals move near the Tarangire River which provides great opportunities for game viewing. The park is less crowded giving a more personal swimming experience, and there are different ways to get around the park from walking safaris to traditional game drives to experience the rich variety of ecosystems the park has to offer.

Game drive

In Tarangire National Park, one of the following methods is effective at getting the wildlife experience. You could either board a 4×4 vehicle with a trained ranger who can offer you a tour through the expansive wildlife park. The park is known for its big elephant families, alongside lions, giraffes, zebras, and a lot more species. During the dry season, the river Tarangire which crosses the park becomes a primary watering site for bushes, drawing numerous animals. This time is best for seeing the wildlife as they create magnificent vehicle and photograph opportunities for the wildlife in the park as they perform their instincts.

 

Walking Safaris

On foot, tourists can get to see the wildlife up close as they are guided around various ecosystems that seem to stand in an amusement park. This enables humans to learn tracking animals, different plant species and the behavioral patterns set by the fauna making it more personified to nature.

Bird watching

The African grey parrots, hornbills and lilac breasted rollers are just a few of the 500 species Tarangire has to offer, making it a dreamland for an avid bird watcher. The rich tapestry of the parks ecosystem boasts well enough to offer excellent opportunities for birding no matter what time of the year it is.
